About the treatment
What is Hair PRP Treatment?
Platelet-Rich Plasma therapy uses growth factors found in your own blood. A small sample is drawn and placed in a centrifuge, which separates and concentrates the platelet-rich portion from the rest of the blood.
That concentrate is then micro-injected into the scalp at follicle level, with the aim of supporting dormant follicles, improving blood supply to the area and encouraging stronger hair growth. Suitability is assessed at consultation, and results vary between individuals.
Key benefits
What it can help with
Supports regrowth
Aims to stimulate dormant follicles in areas of thinning.
Improves hair quality
Many people notice existing hair feels denser and more resilient over a course.
Uses your own biology
The material injected is derived from your own blood sample.
Minimal downtime
Most people return to normal activity the same day. Mild scalp tenderness for around 24 hours is common.
Suitable for men and women
Used for early to moderate thinning in both, following assessment.
Progressive results
Changes develop gradually over three to six months, with maintenance sessions discussed at review.
What to expect
The process
Blood draw
Approximately 20ml of blood is drawn from your arm, similar to a routine blood test.
Centrifuge separation
The sample is spun in a medical centrifuge to isolate and concentrate the platelet-rich plasma.
Scalp preparation
A topical numbing cream is applied to the scalp for your comfort.
Micro-injections
The plasma is injected in a grid pattern across the areas of thinning using fine needles.
Aftercare
Avoid washing your hair for 24 hours. Mild redness or tenderness is normal and settles quickly.
